My Immersion Assembly

           Survivor Immersion Assembly/ Term4

On Monday the 12th of October we had an Assembly. When we walked into the hall some of the teacher's class was already in the hall waiting for the rest of the other classes to come. Then when everybody came we started assembly then we all had to watch Mr Burt,s video the people that was acting on the video were Jaylen,Ana and Jordan. In the video they were eating KFC then when it finished the other team’s teachers had their turn talking  before they've had to play the movie. When it finished we all came back to class.

But before we had to watch the video the prefects had to do the mihi and the karakia. After the mihi and the karakia finished it was time for team 1 teachers to come up and present. Then when team 2 came up miss Berry was dressed up in Barney and the other teacher was something else.

World War 1 DLO

This term we have been learning about world war 1.  In my DLO you will see a poppy being formed. Then I drew a Fighting Scene.  Lastly I have a war memorial.

My Letter Master

A continent is a group of land on earth. Different countries make up  different continents. There are 7 continents in the world. They are the Australian continent is an small continent.  New Zealand is not part of the continent of Australia, but is part of one called Zealandia. There are 36,000,000, million people in Australia.

Use my brain, use my heart, I'm going to be cybersmart explanation

means you can be clever with technology and it was made by Mr Burt. It was made to help us to do the right thing on our netbook.

The first part is use my brain. Use my brain means I have to Listen to my self when my head Tells me what to do. If I’m about to play a  game and my head says “is that the right thing?” I will Listen to my head.

Use my heart means listen to how I feel. When I’m doing something bad I feel bad like I might get into trouble.So you should listen to your heart.

To be cyber smart you should leave a smart foot print. That means think about what you say.

Culture Dictogloss

WHAT IS CULTURE

Culture makes  different country’s  special. They also speak different languages, songs, eat different food and wear different clothes. My culture is Cook Island Maori. We eat a special Cook Island donuts.

Different countries have different cultures. In Japan the old people dress in kimono’s, put flowers in vases and they have tea.

My culture does cook island dancing and we eat poke and we eat meat.

My reflection for 2013

Reading: Reading is good for you because you learn to read hard words and recognise letters as well. I like to read at home with my mum and at school with my teacher . I like to learn about new things when i read. My goal for reading is to move up to a higher level.

Writing: My favourite work is writing because I like to write about different things. I like to tell people my stories about what I do at home and school. My goal in writing next year is to write longer stories and not get help all the time. 

Maths I like to do maths because we get to go on Maths Whizz and Xtramaths. We learn lots of different things by going on maths whizz like adding, subtracting and multiplication. I like maths because it helps me learn how to add things up so that if i buy something at the shop I know how much it will cost. My goal for next year is to be in a higher maths group. 

Conclusion: This year i'm trying my hardest to not fight by keeping my feet and hands to myself so I don’t get on detention. I hope I can take my netbook home at the end of the year so I can play games and keep up with my learning. I enjoyed being in Miss Lavakula’s class this year and have learnt lots of exciting things. I am looking forward to being a year 6 next year.

Damien Ambury farm

Team 4 have been learning about things on the farm. As part of our learning we traveled on the bus to Ambury farm. It was very hot. We had sore legs when we walked everywhere and saw other animals. But we only saw one bull. When we came back we all went outside and played handball. Then the bell rang. Inside the ambury farm there were lots of animals like cow,horse,pigs,duck,chicken, calf and baby duckling. When we had to milk the cows that was my favourite part. We were really tired and when all of us finished.

film festival

Yesterday Point England school went to Sylvia park. We had to sit on this big chair when you sit on it you can pull this things on the side then your feet will go up and stretch our legs its like you can stretch your whole body. My favourite movie was room 14 it was called Teen Beach movie. When Junior and Alizhay were walking to school and they were watching team beach. They were singing and dancing. After that we had to line up and go back to school.
